About the position
The Project Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the project team of a leading construction company by managing all accounting-related functions for assigned projects. This includes handling client invoicing, payments, compliance, and generating various financial reports. The position requires a strong background in accounting, particularly with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate software, and is based in the office in Lawrenceville, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting related functions for assigned projects.
- Assist project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting department.
- Manage invoices, payments, and compliance for assigned projects.
- Process vendor invoices accurately using commitments and within assigned timeline.
- Process subcontractor AIA G702/G703 invoices accurately and within assigned timeline.
- Collect and track compliance documents.
- Generate reports including Labor, Contract Status, and Job Cost.
- Create client contracts in Sage using Contract Module.
- Enter client invoices using Sage Billing Module.
- Job cost report modification.
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Must have experience with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.
- Minimum 2 years prior experience working for a General Contracting company.
- Proficient in accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments using job cost subcontract and purchase orders.
- Proficient in AIA G702/G703 and Microsoft Office.
