About the position

The Project Accountant at ARCO will play a crucial role in supporting project management through financial oversight and accounting functions. This position involves collaborating closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate billing, processing invoices, and maintaining financial records. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to the company's commitment to integrity and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Project Managers to prepare billings to owners.
  • Process all overhead and job cost invoices throughout the month.
  • Work daily with vendors and subcontractors on billing and payment issues.
  • Collect, log, and verify all required lien waivers from subcontractors and suppliers for payouts to project owners.
  • Reconcile and close accounts payable and accounts receivable monthly and assist in cash reconciliation.
  • Maintain and prepare monthly collection reports.
  • Address miscellaneous issues delegated from the controller.
  • Respond to requests for information and analysis from Project Managers regarding job costs and subcontractor issues.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with subcontractors and Project Managers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 5-15 years of accounting experience preferred; construction accounting experience is a plus.
  • Viewpoint software experience preferred.
  • Experience with Textura and Title Company is a plus.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and complete projects.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and high pressure.
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in construction accounting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Viewpoint software is preferred.
  • Experience with Textura and Title Company is a plus.
