About the position

Millennium Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to join our team in Ft Belvoir, VA. This position requires an active secret clearance and is pivotal in providing day-to-day direction for a group of subordinates. The Program Manager will be responsible for interfacing with Government management to resolve issues, establishing work priorities based on Government goals, and acting as a liaison between the Government customer and the Contractor. This role is essential in ensuring that the team meets its objectives and delivers high-quality results in a timely manner. In this position, the Program Manager will distribute and balance workloads according to established workflows, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently. The candidate will also be responsible for providing on-the-job training to new employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement by assessing team strengths and weaknesses, and leading discussions on potential enhancements. Clear communication of assignments, problem-solving tasks, actionable events, milestones, and deadlines will be critical to the success of the team. The Program Manager will also play a key role in business development activities, supporting Millennium's strategic objectives. This may involve participating in technical interviews, creating technical documentation, and providing proposal writing support, including conducting proposal color reviews. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills, along with a comprehensive understanding of risk management and the Defense Acquisition System.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day to day direction for a group of subordinates
  • Provides expert functional guidance to employees
  • Interfaces with Government management to resolve problems
  • Establishes priorities of work to subordinates based on Government goals and objectives
  • Interfaces between Government customer and Contractor
  • Performs other PM direct support functional roles
  • Distributes and balances workload in accordance with established workflows and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload
  • Gives on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices
  • Leads the team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and provides leadership to the team in exploring alternatives and determining improvements
  • Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, suspenses and time frames for completion
  • Assigns work to personnel according to workload, ability and priority of assignment and provides instruction and assistance as necessary on problems or issues

Requirements

  • Must have an active secret clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 20 years of total experience
