About the position

The Program Intervention Technician position involves working directly in a crisis respite setting with individuals diagnosed with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), and/or behavioral health needs. The role requires constant engagement and supervision of individuals, implementing tailored programs based on individual needs, and utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis techniques to teach expected behaviors and life skills. The technician will also manage behavioral programming for issues such as self-injury and aggression, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain residential and instructional areas.
  • Prepare and keep reinforcement and needed program materials accessible.
  • Deliver instruction following procedures learned from training sessions and feedback from supervisors.
  • Collect data accurately following Boundless procedures.
  • Maintain individual's program book and monitor ISP/Treatment Plan objectives.
  • Complete documentation as assigned by supervisors.
  • Deliver reinforcement based on training and feedback from supervisors.
  • Implement specific behavior plans as directed by supervisors.
  • Communicate concerns with program goals and interventions to supervisors.
  • Attend all required training sessions, including webinars or video training.
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and parents.
  • Implement Crisis Intervention and Behavioral Interventions to maintain safety.
  • Drive individuals to offsite program locations, school, appointments, and community activities.
  • Involve individuals in community events and activities as appropriate.
  • Perform household duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping for individuals.
  • Monitor individuals' health and report concerns to nursing staff or supervisors.
  • Complete treatments as directed by nursing staff.
  • Maintain and fuel vehicles.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with proof of auto insurance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR certification (training provided).
  • One year experience working with intellectually or developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
  • Experience implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with competent literacy and writing skills.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with crisis intervention techniques.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid policies and procedures.
