About the position

The Program Coordinator at Hospitality House Food Pantry is responsible for managing the operations of various food pantry programs, ensuring efficient service delivery to clients and community members. This role includes overseeing program logistics, volunteer coordination, and community engagement, all aimed at alleviating food insecurity and supporting individuals and families in need.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of food pantry programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, donors, and clients.
  • Prepare and disseminate program-related communications, including newsletters and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities and assess program effectiveness.
  • Assist in budget planning and monitor expenditures for program activities.
  • Greet and register clients seeking pantry services, ensuring documentation is completed accurately.
  • Assess individual and family needs to determine appropriate assistance levels.
  • Coordinate special events and initiatives, such as school supply and holiday programs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information and optimize engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of Hospitality House.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management skills.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to serving others.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
