About the position

The YMCA of Delaware is dedicated to ensuring that every youth and teen we serve is on a pathway to success, improving the health and wellbeing of every individual and family we serve, and uniting communities while inspiring service to others. We are looking for a dedicated individual to collaborate with the Program Director on various operational needs, including event planning, curriculum development, and reporting. This role involves leading program participants through all components of the program, ensuring effective communication with students, parents, and partners, and facilitating professional development workshops. The successful candidate will also coordinate internship placements for students and monitor their progress throughout the program.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Program Director on operational needs, including event planning, curriculum development, and reporting.
  • Lead program participants of the Walnut St. YMCA through all components of the program, including the hiring process, document collection, and processing.
  • Ensure students, parents, and partners are informed of program timelines, deadlines, and important events.
  • Facilitate Professional Development workshop in a group setting throughout each cohort.
  • Coordinate and secure appropriate internship placements for students, aligning with their career interests and goals.
  • Monitor and document students' internship hours and ensure they meet program requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential partners and collaborators, expanding opportunities for program growth and student development.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
  • Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of workforce development principles, youth mentorship, career readiness strategies, and program management.
  • Well-versed in educational technology platforms, partnership building, and effective communication techniques to engage students, parents, and community partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Multi-lingual skills.
  • Associates degree in fields of Youth Development, Social Work, Administration or related fields.
  • Additional coursework or training in program management or youth development.
