About the position

The Neighbors Pediatrics Program Coordinator, Community Outreach at MUSC Community Physicians is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing outreach programs aimed at promoting public health awareness and increasing access to preventive care. This role involves collaboration with patients, community groups, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to address health and social needs within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations, health agencies, churches, schools, and other businesses.
  • Design and implement outreach programs that address specific health and social issues, including preventive care, social needs, and mental health services.
  • Organize and participate in health fairs, workshops, and seminars to educate the community about Neighbors Pediatrics healthcare services and preventive health measures.
  • Track and report on community health trends, participation in programs, and the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
  • Help individuals and families access Neighbors Pediatrics healthcare services by connecting them with relevant resources, insurance/financial assistance, screenings, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with Neighbors Pediatrics healthcare providers, employees, government agencies, and community leaders to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Develop marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media content, to promote Neighbors Pediatrics healthcare services and outreach programs.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers or outreach staff to assist with community health events and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in healthcare services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with community partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Bachelor's degree and one year work experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2 to 4 years work experience.
