About the position

The Program Associate for Academic Success & Retention will support initiatives aimed at improving student experiences and retention rates within the Office for Student Success. This role involves providing comprehensive support to students, conducting outreach, analyzing data, and implementing programming designed to foster academic success. The associate will work closely with various departments to coordinate efforts that assist at-risk students and enhance overall student engagement and success.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Director and Program Manager in coordinating retention initiatives across ESS offices.
  • Conduct personalized outreach to students eligible for academic support programs.
  • Organize academic interventions using data-driven approaches and best practices.
  • Assist in conducting intrusive interventions for at-risk students referred by advisers and faculty.
  • Mentor and provide programming support to Scholar Cohort students and faculty mentors.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations for new student orientation and first-year experience courses.
  • Support OSS leadership in outreach and training of university staff regarding student success factors.
  • Coordinate with various departments to implement campus-wide success initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to guide outreach and intervention efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Prior full-time experience with higher education retention and success program development.
  • Experience with data analysis and ability to present data in consumable formats.
  • Familiarity with software and tools for success and retention efforts.
  • Experience in academic advising and managing academic success teams.
  • Strong communication skills to build rapport with students and colleagues.
