About the position

The Program Assistant for Head Start & Early Head Start is responsible for managing the program's eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance services. This role involves recruiting students and families, processing applications, planning recruitment events, and maintaining student data. The Program Assistant will also provide support to parents during the application and enrollment process and perform various office duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the program's Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA) services.
• Recruit students and families for the program.
• Process incoming applications and follow up on them.
• Plan and organize recruitment events.
• Input program data into the appropriate database and create regular data reports.
• Oversee the management of all student data requirements.
• Greet participants and answer telephone calls for the program.
• Assist parents with the application and enrollment process.
• Perform related office duties, including faxing, filing, and photocopying.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Driver's License.
• Computer skills including proficiency in database systems.
• Typing skills at 45 wpm with accuracy in spelling and grammar.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills to perform assignments effectively.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

• Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in office routines and elementary accounting procedures.
