About The Position

Join Our Dynamic Team at UPMC Mercy’s Emergency Department! Are you ready to make a difference in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art environment? UPMC Mercy is seeking a full-time experienced nurse to join our Emergency Department team! Our 36-bed Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department also partners with Mercy's nationally recognized Burn Center ICU and is also a primary cardiac and comprehensive stroke center. Provide emergency care to over 68,000 patients annually, handling everything from minor injuries to complex medical-surgical needs, obstetrical cases, psychiatric emergencies, and substance abuse services. Patient volume and acuity can change rapidly, requiring quick thinking and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Act 34 with renewal

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency Medicine, EMT or pre-hospital experience
  • UPMC approved national certification preferred.
