About the position

Bloom Companies, LLC is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor with extensive knowledge in general surveying principles. This full-time position offers the potential for future promotion to a Survey Group Manager role. Responsibilities

  • Assist in all survey tasks required for each unique project under the direction of Bloom leadership.
  • Assist the Civil Group Manager in preparing proposals for new work, determining the level of surveying effort required.
  • Coordinate efforts with existing staff to ensure project schedules and deliverables are met.
  • Communicate and track planning print and utility marking needs with Digger's Hotline, land owners, and other utilities or authorities.
  • Collect general property information, historic land use information, plats, as-builts, boring logs, and other documents for surveying efforts.
  • Conduct site visits and general data collection to support design efforts.
  • Complete surveying efforts to support design or construction.
  • Complete additional project documents such as field reports and existing condition reports.
  • Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of others.
  • Stamp/Seal survey drawings as needed.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with Bloom leadership, design team members, clients, project owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings and represent the company professionally.
  • Participate in Bloom's mentor/mentee culture.

Requirements

  • Wisconsin Registered Land Surveyor (RLS, PLS).
  • 5+ years of experience in land surveying.
  • Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying, boundary and control surveying, ALTA/ACSM Surveys, and Right-of-Way plats.
  • Familiarity with common surveying equipment required to complete tasks.
  • Knowledge of Trimble GPS and Total Station Systems, or personal equipment available for use/rent by Bloom.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting to complete assigned project tasks.
  • Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience with additional surveying techniques or technologies not listed in the required qualifications.
