PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER - SPECIAL INSPECTOR

About the position

Join Our Team as a Special Inspector for immediate Building, Transportation, & Infrastructure Projects within the Five Boroughs of New York City. We are currently seeking driven and qualified Special Inspectors to join our team for immediate project needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Architecture
• 3+ years' experience inspecting construction work in the city of NY, varied in Size and complexity
• Proficiency with Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code
• Currently holds a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) in the State of NY or NJ (Civil or Structural)
• A minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting construction work in the city of NJ or NY, varied in Size and complexity
• Familiarity with Chapter 17 of the NYC and International building code
• Familiarity with Inspecting Pile Installation and Geotechnical Inspections as per the requirements of Chapter 17 of the NYC & International building codes
• Current training in crucial safety protocols, including fall protection, scaffolding and ladders, work-zone safety
• Minimum of 10-hour OSHA construction safety certification
• Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients at all organizational levels
• Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting purposes
• Demonstrated ability to deliver inspection reports promptly and accurately
• Possession of a reliable mode of transportation and a valid driver's license
• Willingness to pursue additional certifications to enhance professional skills and expertise
• Aptitude for collaborative teamwork as well as the ability to work independently when necessary
• Familiarity with relevant construction industry codes and regulations
