About the position

The Production Worker (Utility Worker) role involves performing a variety of tasks related to packaging and processing materials in a manufacturing environment. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate various machinery while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Package materials into 5 and 55 gallon containers, drums, and pails.
• Palletize and secure skids for transport.
• Visually inspect articles for proper specifications and notify the Supervisor of any discrepancies.
• Package materials, attach labels, and identify packages or containers as needed.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Maintain records of skid counts.
• Operate various machinery including filler, lid press, valve inserter, crimper, and packer.
• Monitor accumulation tables and water baths during production processes.
• Stack finished cases on skids and identify product contents.
• Follow directives given by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to see, read, and distinguish letters and/or symbols.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures for testing.
• Ability to perform job duties in accordance with established safety rules.
• Prolonged standing (85%), occasional walking (10%), and sitting (5%) required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and personal protective equipment.
