About the position
The Production Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Operator Technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves becoming an expert in production line machines, coordinating with the production team and maintenance mechanics, and ensuring smooth operations. The supervisor will also be responsible for training staff, troubleshooting machine issues, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality while meeting production quotas.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all Operator Technicians and provide training on machine setups and tooling changeovers.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate with Maintenance Mechanics for larger problems.
- Expedite changeovers to minimize downtime and support Line Leaders in maintaining production flow.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for machine setups and changeovers.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a clean working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of experience in a mechanical position (technician, operator, or mechanic).
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
