About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for safely supervising team members, coordinating materials, and ensuring production goals are met without exceeding budget. This role oversees daily operations, including quality assurance, scheduling, and personnel management, while driving compliance with safety standards and efficiency objectives. The Production Supervisor also collaborates closely with the blending department and warehouse teams to ensure just-in-time (JIT) staging of raw components and smooth product changeovers.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and production processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage personnel issues in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with packaging equipment and production operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and align with site vision, strategy, goals, and performance targets.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead application of all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) rules and safe work practices (e.g., forklift safety, PPE compliance).
  • Supervise and manage shift personnel, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and proper allocation of tasks.
  • Conduct quality audits at established frequencies and maintain high standards of compliance.
  • Monitor and control wage costs within budget; prevent overstaffing and manage payroll in accordance with company procedures.
  • Address personnel issues such as absenteeism, underperformance, and conduct concerns promptly, in line with company policies.
  • Review and appraise staff performance; provide coaching, feedback, and training to support development.
  • Coordinate production activities with the blending department and Packaging Support Warehouse Coordinator to ensure materials are staged JIT or at least three days in advance.
  • Communicate daily production metrics and audit scores; implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Summarize and report shift activities for effective shift handoffs and daily management reviews.
  • Identify equipment or maintenance concerns and work with managers, suppliers, and the maintenance team to resolve them.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to support personal and professional development.
