About the position
The Production Supervisor at Flex is responsible for overseeing outbound shipment operations within a technical environment, ensuring that production lines meet volume, quality, and cost goals. This role involves leading a team, maintaining high-volume pick and pack operations, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with engineers for plant improvements. The supervisor will also prioritize production schedules, manage expenses, and ensure a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple processes in a technical environment, leading a team of professionals to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.
- Maintain seasonal high volume pick and pack and shipment customer demand.
- Regularly review plant performance, identify improvement areas, and recommend operational changes for efficiency and quality enhancement.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide resolutions; coach operators to enhance performance and understanding.
- Collaborate with engineers on plant improvement proposals and provide technical advice to project teams.
- Serve as a liaison between operations and maintenance, and train junior staff.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product needs and resource availability.
- Initiate process development and cost improvement projects, assist in budget planning, and manage expenses.
- Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety standards and training for all personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience related to shipping and receiving.
- 4+ years of supervisory experience leading a large team of associates.
- 3+ years of operations experience in high volume pick and pack and shipping operations.
- Strong supervisory skills and background in providing direction and follow up to achieve operational goals.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge.
