About the position

This position is for 2nd-Shift: Monday - Friday approximately 2 pm - 11 pm. The role involves accomplishing tasks mainly through direct supervision, directing daily operations of work areas, and assigning work according to established schedules and deliverables. The supervisor will interact daily with subordinates and peers across functions, set objectives and performance standards, and monitor daily activities for all employees in the department. Responsibilities include maintaining schedules and delivery promises, ensuring proper documentation is in use on the production floor, and meeting all company safety, environmental, and housekeeping guidelines. The supervisor will also participate in the training and development of employees, initiate and follow up on personnel activities including performance reviews and counseling, and interface with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and other support groups to solve production problems. Additionally, the supervisor will maintain accurate floor inventory, control scrap and excess material, ensure compliance with safety and security regulations, enter and maintain attendance data, and be responsible for continuous process improvement while promoting Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Other duties may be specified by authorized company representatives, and the role may require working any shift as needed. This position is in a unionized shop.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business administration or related field and 1+ years of experience OR High School Diploma and equivalent years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with previous supervisor experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency using a Computer.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience supervising in a union environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma certifications.
