About The Position

The Production Quality Technician at thyssenkrupp Presta North America LLC is responsible for planning and conducting activities related to the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products. This role involves a variety of essential duties including conducting analysis, inspections, and tests to ensure product quality, applying statistical process control methods, documenting quality assurance activities, and preparing reports to communicate results. The technician will also support production in addressing quality issues and manage nonconforming materials.

Requirements

• Associates degree or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, and tests to assure the quality of products.
• Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Contributes actively to the reduction of failure costs like scrap, downtime, and rework.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
• Documents quality assurance activities, issues, and solutions in LISP.
• Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of government, customer, and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
• Stops production in case of a non-conformity.
• Supports production in case of quality issues, which are supplier or process related.
• Tracks and manages storage and flow of nonconforming and suspect material.
• Supports production in the assembly of high-quality products while achieving all SQDC targets by representing Quality in SQDC.
• Applies problem-solving methodology to ongoing issues on the shop floor.
