About the position

The Cross-Departmental Plant Manager and Project Manager at ColorCoat Inc. is responsible for leading the Window and Door Operations and scaling up new production operations. This role involves overseeing procurement activities, ensuring efficient material management, and driving continuous improvements in production output, quality, and cost targets while maintaining a safe work environment. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work cross-departmentally to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with leadership to achieve production output, quality, and cost targets while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and customer service.
  • Provide inspired leadership and promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory documents and monitor adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to plan for short and long-term goals.
  • Analyze process workflow and employee performance to implement necessary changes.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of scale-up projects, including facility expansion and equipment acquisition.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, identifying critical milestones and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams to identify suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
  • Implement best practices for material control and inventory management to optimize inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement training programs for employees to facilitate successful scale-up operations.
  • Coordinate acquiring and installing new equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in plant management and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong background in Lean manufacturing and process integration.
  • Green or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in procurement and supply chain management.
