About the position

The Production Planner at Seneca Foods is responsible for creating and managing the daily production schedules for all packaging lines, ensuring efficient processing and minimal downtime. This role involves coordinating with various departments to maintain high service levels and timely production, while also providing support to the Purchasing Manager and Supply Chain Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Create daily production schedules in SAP, including material usage.
  • Schedule in a manner that allows for minimal line change-overs.
  • Understand the product flow from the field to the warehouse.
  • Schedule the tank processing of all varieties of fruit used in our product lines.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to maintain 98% or better service levels.
  • Communicate with production, quality, and maintenance about special instructions that need to be followed for certain product lines.
  • Provide back-up to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Coordinate incoming loads to ensure raw product supply meets processing and production demands.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Business Management or Administration preferred.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Previous successful supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a food processing facility is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP is beneficial.
