About the position

The Production Operator plays a critical role in the execution of manufacturing operations by operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery and production systems in alignment with company standards. This position ensures the efficient production of high-quality goods within manufacturing environment, while upholding strict safety, quality, and efficiency protocols. Additional tasks may be required in order to assist in the development of new employees, new products and projects led by Engineering and Quality personnel. Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery, tools, and equipment according to established SOPs and work instructions.
  • Perform setup, calibration, start-up, and shutdown procedures for assigned workstations.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and identify deviations, resolving minor issues and escalating when necessary.
  • Conduct in-process and final product inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Complete accurate production documentation (e.g., batch records, quality forms, downtime logs, inventory usage).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area using 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including use of PPE, Lockout/Tagout, and hazard communication.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, and engineering to resolve issues and support improvements.
  • Support production targets by minimizing downtime, reducing waste, and maximizing throughput.
  • Participate in cross-training, skill-building, and team-based problem-solving initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
  • Basic machine operation experience or familiarity with assembly lines or production equipment.
  • Understanding of quality control principles and basic inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA).
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for tracking production, inventory, and quality data.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including schematics and safety guidelines.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long durations, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift or material handling certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or one-piece flow methodologies.
  • Awareness of key manufacturing terms (e.g., cycle time, scrap rate, yield, throughput).
  • Strong attention to detail with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a strong attendance record.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and adaptability to changing production needs.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
