About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for organizing, planning, coordinating, and staffing the Production department. This role is accountable for meeting production, quality, and safety targets, and directly managing, coaching, and developing all department personnel. The manager will be responsible for performance management, including coaching, discipline, and input into hiring and termination decisions. This role also involves managing the department in a cost-effective manner through sound production planning and resource allocation, exercising independent judgment in production scheduling, staffing, and operational decision-making. Additionally, the Production Manager is responsible for maintaining necessary tools, equipment, and supplies, reviewing production records, identifying and implementing process improvements, assisting with equipment acquisition, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of machining shop areas. The role also includes generating non-compliance reports, initiating corrective actions, maintaining a safe working environment, and ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years experience in production and/or manufacturing environment
  • 2–5 years experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound operational decisions
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels
  • Team building and employee development
  • Computer literacy (including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting

Nice To Haves

  • Oilfield equipment manufacturing knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organizing, planning, coordinating, and staffing the Production department
  • Meeting production, quality, and safety targets

  • Generating non-compliance reports and initiating corrective and preventative actions
  • Maintaining and promoting a safe working environment in accordance with HSE procedures
  • Complying with all NOV Company and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensuring alignment with company objectives and operational goals
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager
