About the position

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process, ensuring the smooth operation of production lines, and maintaining the quality of output. This role involves planning, coordinating resources, and managing personnel to meet production goals efficiently while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for production, manufacturing, purchasing, material handling, and production programming.
  • Develops and designs plans to achieve goals in safety, production, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Manages overall production activities, ensuring jobs are performed in proper sequence and lines are staffed effectively.
  • Works with purchasing, material control, and engineering to ensure required information and materials are available for production needs.
  • Controls manufacturing costs by ensuring accurate labor reporting and minimizing scrap and rework.
  • Conducts safety and production meetings as needed.
  • Trains manufacturing personnel in equipment operation, methods, safety rules, and quality principles.
  • Completes various projects related to production functions, such as processing returned units and handling compliance filings.
  • Promotes positive employee relations with all company personnel.
  • Organizes workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Monitors production to resolve issues and supervises performance of production personnel.
  • Determines necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.) and approves maintenance work and equipment purchases.
  • Ensures output meets quality standards and enforces health and safety precautions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a production director.
  • Deep knowledge of production management.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software.
  • Outstanding communication ability.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field is preferred.
