About The Position

Works with agricultural produce such as vegetables. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned): Segregates produce on conveyor belt or table according to grade, color, and size. Discards cull (inferior or defective) items and foreign matter. Fills pepper machines with raw product. Remove cores from raw product on the popping line. Sorts raw product into size and color classifications. Responsible for product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and product quality.

Requirements

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
