About The Position

Responsible for operating equipment in accordance with procedures to ensure optimum product quality and for training and leading the daily activities of production personnel to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met for assigned departments. Must be willing to train for 3-4 weeks on 1st shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment required.
  • Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
  • Computer literate; Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • May be required to possess a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record report and insurance coverage appropriate to enable legal and safe driving of vehicle(s) for company-related business.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures necessary to lead and troubleshoot assigned production areas.
  • Direct production personnel to ensure that orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Work independently and lead employees within a small group to ensure production schedule and quality standards are met and report issues to supervisor.
  • Operate equipment such as, but not limited to, the Pre-Expander, Mold, Lamination Line, Block – Auto Line, etc., as well as the duties of changing a tool for a shape press or setting up equipment.
  • Analyze discrepancies to devise and implement a corrective plan of action.
  • Train and provide support to new and current employees to ensure complete understanding of roles and responsibilities.
  • Perform various functions in PeopleSoft including creating jobs, printing job travelers, issuing materials, and reporting quantities.
  • Lay out orders to maximize yield and reduce scrap.
  • Report plant metrics such as LF/HR, Blocks/HR, and scrap rates.
  • Verify equipment set-up prior to start of a production run, operates and shuts down manufacturing equipment.
  • Verify order information and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet specific job requirements while meeting productivity standards.
  • Monitor equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor; assist maintenance personnel with routine equipment cleaning.
  • Make adjustments to equipment settings.
  • Maintain proper work logs and complete required reports as necessary.
  • Bundle, wrap, stack, pack, assemble and/or label material per specific production instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Drive the culture for Best in Class Safety.
  • Perform any other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Be trained and familiar with general safety.
  • Be trained and familiar with Quality System Awareness.
  • Be verified by supervisor to be able to sign off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
