About the position

The Production Lead for the 2nd Shift at West Coast Cure is responsible for supervising the daily activities of a production team to ensure that production volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are met. This role involves monitoring production activities, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and safety. The Production Lead will also be responsible for staff training and onboarding new team members, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements in the cannabis industry.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of the production team to meet volume, cost, waste, and quality standards.
  • Monitor production activity and troubleshoot process problems.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Deliver and coordinate staff training and onboarding for new hires.
  • Lead and manage a team to ensure compliant production processes.
  • Oversee processing, formulation, and packaging of cannabis products.
  • Allocate tasks and motivate team members to achieve production targets.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and inventory management for seamless operations.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate production records and update inventory databases.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Strong oral, written, and communication skills.
  • Operational knowledge of using a computer and Microsoft Office software.
  • Leadership skills to manage and motivate a production team.
  • Attention to detail for precise formulation and processing.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities for production issues.
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations for cannabis production.
  • Time management skills to meet production targets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
