About the position

Pilgrim's is seeking a Production Generalist to perform a variety of production-centered tasks to support the production of value-added poultry products. This position is designed to help employees increase their skills in preparation for advancement into posted positions. The role involves learning and training to back up duties for various positions, participating in job correlations and audits, communicating real-time results, monitoring quality standards, and maintaining a clean work area. The Production Generalist will also be expected to follow all safety policies and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and train to back up duties for Operators, Process Control Worker, Set-Up/Utility and Covering Breaks.
  • Participate in job correlations/audits and SOP reviews and revisions.
  • Communicate real-time results to processing support on the floor.
  • Monitor quality standards of product and make necessary adjustments when needed.
  • Rotate to positions that require data collecting and recordkeeping.
  • Follow all work safety policies/guidelines.
  • Process product using tools and equipment in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim's product standards.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any equipment malfunctions and/or safety issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • High School or GED is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to become authorized in LOTO, pallet jack, and become a certified trainer.
  • Basic data entry skills preferred.
  • Ability to communicate questions and concerns effectively to maintenance and/or leadership.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities such as acting independently and problem-solving issues.
