About the position

The Production Engineer II at FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc. is responsible for ensuring product quality and leading continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, manage changes in manufacturing processes, and drive data-based decision-making to optimize production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Own product quality and collaborate with Materials Engineers, Customer Quality Engineers, and Quality Systems Engineers.
  • Update and maintain manufacturing documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Review documents for compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the Management of Change process for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Conduct root cause investigations for production, quality, and customer issues.
  • Support the Materials Engineering team in root cause analysis related to raw materials.
  • Develop and execute a Preventative Maintenance schedule for process equipment.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities using a data-driven approach.
  • Develop a robust SQC/SPC program to balance process capability and customer requirements.
  • Update process parameter control limits and lead trend reviews to ensure process control.
  • Collaborate with Control System Engineers and lab teams to ensure data accuracy.
  • Develop transfer functions between customer performance requirements and internal manufacturing characteristics.
  • Train and inspire production staff to follow procedures and understand their impact on quality.
  • Optimize production processes by defining sampling points and in-process test protocols.
  • Support corporate EH&S and Quality initiatives and capital projects.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical Engineering preferred; other relevant engineering disciplines acceptable.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a chemical processing environment required.
  • In-depth knowledge of chemical engineering unit operations such as mixing, filtration, and distillation.
  • Strong problem-solving and statistical data analysis skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications and statistical software like JMP, Minitab, or SAS.
  • Working experience with AutoCAD or SAP is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or higher in a relevant Engineering discipline is a plus.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) is a plus.
