About the position

A Production Coordinator plays an essential role in the success of a production team. The coordinator ensures that the manufacturing process runs smoothly by managing, tracking, and reporting production activities, resources, and materials. They work with planners, the production team, engineering, quality, and logistics to move products through the shop efficiently, meeting established delivery dates. Organization skills, problem-solving, time management, and good communication skills are fundamental for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production activities for manufacturing and release production orders to support the schedule.
  • Requisition materials from warehouse to production, complete material availability checks prior to production and deliver all documents needed for production to the shop floor.
  • Facilitate communication between production teams and upper management, reporting on progress, challenges, and potential delays and work with planners to coordinate the processing of subcontract operations during production.
  • Participate in the overtime meetings and help schedule overtime for the responsible department per production requirements.
  • Monitor the FPFM inventory, perform cycle counts as required, and adjust inventory accordingly and initiate QNs on nonconformance and confirm that QNs are completed before shipping.
  • Clear materials variances (unprocessed goods movements), confirm production orders, ensuring all operations have been completed and materials have been applied to the order and order necessary shipping containers and coordinate with the shipping department to schedule shipments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP (preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
