About the position

Chokaico Craft Chocolate is seeking a Production Associate to join their small but dynamic team at their bean-to-bar chocolate factory and retail store in Avon, CT. This part-time position involves various tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the shop, including chocolate production, cleaning, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and passionate about artisanal chocolate, contributing to a welcoming community atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Sort cacao beans and assist in the chocolate-making process.
• Roast cacao beans after training and make chocolate bars and truffles.
• Package chocolate bars and truffles, and prepare orders for shipping.
• Run errands for supplies and deliver orders to the post office.
• Clean the production and retail areas at the end of the day.
• Help manage inventory of raw materials and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain excellent customer service.
• Participate in product development efforts, including creating new flavor combinations.
• Uphold the company's quality standards and brand image.

Requirements

• Knowledge of or passion for artisanal chocolate and the bean-to-bar process.
• Proven experience in kitchen and retail environments preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, or moving objects of at least 25 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous specialty coffee, craft food, or retail experience.
