About The Position

The Production Assistant role involves a blend of communication, organizational, and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production planning tools, managing paperwork, coordinating workflow between departments, and ensuring workplace safety. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering open communication across different teams. The role operates in both an office and production floor environment, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a potentially loud setting with moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

  • Prior production planning background
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of engineered drawings/blueprints is required

Nice To Haves

  • college/technical degree, preferred
  • Knowledge of metric system a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production planning tool, Smartsheet, to schedule and maintain workflow from department to department
  • Keep paperwork organized and report discrepancies to MRP or Order Entry to be corrected
  • Hand off shop paperwork to the respective departments once entered in Smartsheet
  • Report discrepancies with components to appropriate department supervisor and purchasing
  • Work together with Production group to schedule customer orders accordingly
  • Build an open-communication culture with other departments
  • Monitor workplace safety and strive to prevent injuries and accidents
  • Maintain clean environment on assembly floor
