About The Position

Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly motivated Product Owner to influence, define, and execute the digital roadmap for ETRADE Trading & Investing, with a specific focus on the markets and research offering, including cryptocurrency. This role is within the Wealth Management (WM) Platforms division, which manages industry-leading platforms across all WM channels and client segments to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. The WM Platforms division consists of ten sub-teams, including Digital Trading & Investing, Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office. The Product Owner will champion the online markets and research experience for ETRADE from Morgan Stanley and Wealth Management clients across platforms, identifying opportunities for feature enhancements and projects, executing against the strategic roadmap, and ensuring a frictionless UX. The role involves defining the client experience and driving the growth and adoption of digital assets for research and trading, including cryptocurrencies. Collaboration with technology and third-party vendors for crypto market data integration and asset custodianship is key. The position will also help develop, test, and manage AI features within the ETrade Trading & Investing team, adhering to AI governance processes. The Product Owner will maintain and prioritize the product backlog, create user stories and epics with detailed acceptance criteria, and support production issue resolution. Active participation in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders are essential. The role requires quick and effective resolution of client-facing issues, preparation of presentations for stakeholder approvals and status reporting, and lifecycle management of products. A robust understanding of ETRADE products, services, processes, and organizational structure is necessary for rapid execution of key initiatives, alongside maintaining awareness of industry trends, compliance, risk control, and the regulatory landscape.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of agile product management experience, preferably in financial services.
• Experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst, owning and delivering enterprise-scale digital products within a financial regulatory environment.
• Direct experience working with multiple key stakeholders in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in analyzing user feedback, backlog grooming and prioritization, pilot testing and rollout strategy, communication plans, overall product support, and driving technology adoption strategies.
• Prior experience related to markets, equities research and cryptocurrency trading preferred.
• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for efficiency and completing tasks.
• Understanding of competitive and regulatory environments for online brokerages (web, mobile, desktop app)
• Ability to effectively and thoughtfully communicate to a wide range of stakeholders (verbal and written)
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and project management skills.
• Self-starter with curiosity and desire to dig into and understand details.
• Comfortable gathering and utilizing data analytics, usage and internal and external feedback to inform decision-making.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and initiatives / parallel work tracks.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications
• Basic familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Asana as product / project management tools
• Knowledge of ETRADE products, services, & systems a plus

Responsibilities

• Championing the online markets and research experience for ETRADE from Morgan Stanley and Wealth Management clients across platforms, identifying opportunities for feature enhancements and projects, executing against the strategic roadmap and ensuring UX is free of friction or issues.
• Define client experience and drive the continued growth and adoption of digital assets for research and trading, including cryptocurrencies.
• Work closely with technology and 3rd party vendors to support and drive requirements for crypto market data integration and asset custodianship.
• Help develop, test and manage AI features and capabilities within the ETrade Trading & Investing team, working closely with control partners and within the overall AI governance processes.
• Maintain and prioritize product backlog creating user stories and epics with detailed acceptance criteria for feature development as well as provide support for production issues and resolution.
• Actively participate in product validation / testing with QA and help oversee release management process.
• Participate and lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders throughout the organization and externally to drive project delivery and execution including UX & Design, Technology, QA, Service, Operations, Legal, Risk, Compliance and 3rd party vendors.
• Work quickly and effectively to resolve client-facing issues or concerns.
• Prepare presentations to communicate ideas, gain stakeholder approvals, report project statuses, measure & track KPIs.
• Monitor and maintain products through their lifecycle: launch, growth, maturity and decline.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, compliance concerns, risk control processes, and regulatory landscape.
• Acquire a robust understanding of ETRADE products, services, processes, and organizational structure in order to find optimal solutions and achieve rapid execution of key initiatives.
