About the position

The Product Manager Level 1 is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, understanding and executing on the product vision, and working closely with operations, sales, and marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. This position requires a broad know-how of major functions to execute successfully as well as strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute portfolio plans to maximize revenue, sales, and customer base in critical product lines.
  • Discover, understand, and clearly communicate customer and market dynamics to enable management understanding of customer/user needs.
  • Work with business leaders to provide input in the development of business case and portfolio plans for the next generation of current products as well as new products.
  • Identify issues from the field and develop sources of competitive intelligence to facilitate product development.
  • Develop materials to present the value proposition for individual markets, both domestic and international.
  • Develop and cultivate professional relationships with key product suppliers for the purpose of enhancing product promotion.
  • Support Innovation Team in product development and management efforts.
  • Support Project Management with regular updates and statuses as well as prioritization of activities.
  • Prepare presentations & emails for senior leadership & Innovation Team as applicable.
  • Propose solutions to problems instead of solely execution of assigned tasks.
  • Build understanding of existing products and cultivate vendor relationships.
  • Design, lead, manage products, develop, solve problems, support, facilitate, execute, verify, validate, & communicate cross function.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Bioengineering preferred). Will also consider Business, Life Science or similar.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of product portfolio management is preferred.
  • Experience with at least one significant product launch is preferred as well as experience bringing new product lines to market.
  • Knowledge of product development within an acute or tactical care setting is a plus.
  • A proven track record in working with cross-functional teams, resulting in successful product launches.
  • Strong written, speaking and presentation skills, demonstrated by prior accomplishments and examples.
  • Knowledge of full life cycle management and product roadmap development including Strategic Planning Process, Metrics Planning, and Total Product Life Cycle Planning.
  • Experience with ISO 13485 and FDA is preferred.
  • Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office products - Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10%.
