About the position

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Product Manager with a background in the cannabis industry to oversee our diverse product lines, ensuring alignment with market demands, strategic goals, and quality standards. This role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading cannabis brand in a dynamic and rapidly growing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis tailored to the cannabis industry, utilizing surveys, focus groups, and data to identify customer needs and trends.
  • Refine and recommend product offerings based on cannabis market requirements, specifications, and emerging opportunities.
  • Monitor cannabis industry competitors, identifying trends and areas for product enhancement.
  • Work with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and education, to align product strategies and ensure consistent, compliant messaging.
  • Collaborate with production teams and cannabis labs to ensure products meet stringent quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee product development with local cannabis contract manufacturers, ensuring quality and compliance in production.
  • Manage the launch process for new cannabis products, coordinating schedules with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Analyze cannabis industry-specific production costs, develop pricing strategies, and manage input costs for profitability.
  • Provide regular reports on product performance, market positioning, and strategic insights within the cannabis sector.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product management within the cannabis industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Proven success in managing cannabis product lines from concept through market launch.
  • Familiarity with cannabis regulations, market trends, and consumer preferences.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, customer insights, and cannabis sales trends.
  • Clear and persuasive communication for presenting complex ideas, especially within regulated industries.
  • Skilled in managing multiple cannabis projects to successful and timely completion.
  • Proficiency in cannabis product management software and tools, such as JIRA or Trello.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving cannabis industry-specific challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • Product Manager certification is advantageous but not required.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel as needed.
  • Must obtain required cannabis-related certificates/licenses within 90 days of employment.
