About the position

The Service Product Engineer at KLA plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance and reliability of sophisticated semiconductor optical systems. This position involves collaboration with product engineering and service teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and product maintenance. The engineer will engage in system diagnostics, technical training, and data analysis to support the semiconductor industry’s cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assess products for design reliability, stability, and serviceability.
  • Participate in the development and testing of system diagnostics and specifications validation.
  • Facilitate information transfer between product engineers and field service teams.
  • Capture and analyze data from systems at remote customer sites to identify issues.
  • Develop and detail technical service procedures.
  • Train support personnel, including tech support and customer support engineers.
  • Create training materials such as written documents, video tutorials, and online training.
  • Provide written plans of action and on-site assistance for unresolved technical issues.
  • Write technical reports to communicate issues, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Proactively improve service quality and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record in solving complex problems requiring in-depth analysis.
  • Strong analytic and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams and take a leadership role when needed.
  • Natural curiosity and interest in improving processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing and delivering remote technical training using virtual reality and augmented reality.
  • Background in the semiconductor industry.
