About the position

The Product Development Lab Technologist role involves supporting the development of food consumer packaged goods from initial concept through to full production. This position requires hands-on experimentation, data collection, and collaboration with internal experts to ensure successful product outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support product development initiatives from start to full production.
• Prepare experiments and gather/order ingredients and equipment needed.
• Accurately weigh ingredients for experiments.
• Network with internal experts to learn bench-top procedures, methods, and testing protocols.
• Execute experiments and product make-up at the bench-top and/or pilot plant scale.
• Conduct analytical testing and sensory evaluation of ingredients and food products.
• Collect and report data, recording/documenting observations and sharing key findings with the team in a timely manner.
• Perform basic data analysis as needed.

Requirements

• High School Degree with 3+ years of directly relatable experience or a 2-year degree preferred.
• Previous work experience in food product development or laboratory experience.
• Experience in ingredient applications and technologies is a plus.
• Comfortable in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment and laboratory setting.
• Comfortable operating equipment used in food development.
• Basic computer/technology skills (MS Office Products, etc.).
• Basic understanding of food safety and human safety.
