About the position

The Product Analyst at Tyler Technologies' Outdoor Recreation Solutions team plays a crucial role in the expansion of the Outdoor Recreation platform. This position is responsible for overseeing the product life cycle from conception to retirement, ensuring alignment with industry standards and public policy. The analyst will facilitate strategic planning, secure management approval for initiatives, and influence product direction, making a significant impact on the department's success.

Responsibilities

  • Act in an expert capacity for assigned product(s), providing an understanding of detailed client requirements.
  • Influence the vision for moving forward with assigned product(s).
  • Own a prioritized backlog to ensure timely handling of projects.
  • Establish a regular cadence with the user base to demonstrate new features and share the product vision.
  • Influence plans and strategies to achieve product objectives, including published product roadmaps.
  • Champion new technologies and functions to maintain competitiveness.
  • Work with clients to understand requirements and write complex functional/technical specifications.
  • Influence department work priorities.
  • Provide sales support by assisting in responding to RFPs and performing on-site demonstrations.
  • Communicate proactively with senior management regarding product performance and market changes.
  • Contribute to team advancement through integrity, leadership, and knowledge transfer.
  • Coach staff and team members to build professional skills and domain knowledge.
  • Identify system constraints and implications of changes.
  • Learn and analyze client business requirements to enhance knowledge.
  • Embrace learning and growth to gain expertise in the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business (equivalent work experience may substitute).
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in software or related fields, including writing and documenting client specifications.
  • Proven track record of influencing product direction.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of Agile Scrum development processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and associated methodologies.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for conveying technical and non-technical information.
  • Proficient in using and maintaining Aha and Jira.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functional groups.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
