Produce Department Manager
About The Position
The Produce Manager is responsible for directing and supervising all functions and activities of Produce Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department; to ensure that the work shifts of all department personnel contribute to the financial best interests of the store. This role involves following all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Produce operations, safety, and sanitation. The Produce Manager is responsible for achieving financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization, as well as the minimization of shrinkage and supply expense. They will also be responsible for the selection, training, development, and scheduling of Produce associates.
Requirements
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
- Regular vision
- Occasional walking
- Lifting, carrying loads up to 50 lbs
- Stooping, crouching, crawling, and kneeling
- Frequent standing, sitting, pushing/pulling loads up to 100 lbs
- Frequent tasting and smelling
- Constant handling, feeling, talking, and hearing
- High School Diploma - General Studies
Nice To Haves
- Prior Retail or Produce operations experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Directing and supervising all functions and activities of Produce Department personnel to achieve sales and profit goals.

- Achieving financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization, and minimization of shrinkage and supply expense.
- Fulfilling weekly orders in accordance with store policy to ensure adequate supply levels.
- Adhering to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of the product.
- Maintaining and enforcing a clean work environment to ensure sanitary conditions.
- Completing all necessary paperwork relating to the Produce Department.
- Selection, training, development, and scheduling of Produce associates.
- Performing tasks as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
- Promoting sales through courteous customer service.
- Safe operation of equipment.
