About the position

The Procurement Supervisor at LECOM Bradenton Dental School is responsible for overseeing departmental guidelines related to supply management and procurement. This role involves maintaining inventory for various dental practices, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and supporting the Director of Safety, Health & Procurement. The Supervisor will lead by example, assist in student instruction, and contribute to the institution's mission through community involvement and fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

  • Order, track and document supply inventory for the Simulation Clinic and Patient Practice areas.
  • Monitor supply usage and inventory management across dental practices.
  • Maintain inventory and accountability of all supplies and equipment.
  • Produce monthly reports on supply usage and inventory management.
  • Ensure new items are received into the Axium inventory database and track availability.
  • Manage barcode tracking system to enhance accountability of dental materials.
  • Request and receive sample products from vendors to limit expenses.
  • Manage discount programs with vendors and identify cost-effective alternatives.
  • Facilitate student returns by communicating with vendors directly.
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies within the ordering process.
  • Place and track paper orders via LECOM purchasing and accounting departments.
  • Act as the primary AxiUm inventory database manager.
  • Track supply usage and document in AxiUm for inventory control.
  • Assist in the initial and reorder of supplies and equipment for dental offices.
  • Ensure incoming supplies are processed according to hazard communication policy.
  • Receive hazardous materials and facilitate disposal in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain barcode-tracking system to mitigate search times for products.
  • Prepare cost analysis for upcoming orders and assess for possible discounts.
  • Ensure dispensary has ample supplies for students and faculty.
  • Work with faculty and staff to trend upcoming usage and order supplies accordingly.
  • Contribute to LECOM's mission through community involvement and fundraising activities.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement or a similar field.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of dental equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer experience in a dental or related field for AxiUm program entry.
  • Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite and accurate data entry.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPR and first responder certification.
