About the position
The position involves understanding the business needs of all groups within the company and working with business stakeholders to establish a procurement program. The role requires expertise in the indirect spending category, with a clear understanding of market influence, trends, and procurement strategies. The individual will develop and maintain the company's indirect spending purchasing program and procurement database, ensuring timely purchasing execution to meet business needs. Additionally, the role includes developing supplier relationships to ensure low-cost, quality supply and tracking vendor performance. The individual will also drive cost reduction programs in areas such as assembly and test equipment, IT, freight, and other indirect material purchasing.
Responsibilities
- Understand business needs of all groups in the company and work with stakeholders to establish the procurement program.
- Demonstrate expertise in the indirect spending category with a clear understanding of market influence, trends, and procurement strategy.
- Develop the company's indirect spending purchasing program and maintain the procurement database.
- Execute timely purchasing to meet business needs.
- Develop supplier relationships to ensure low cost and quality supply; track and evaluate vendor performance.
- Drive cost reduction programs in assembly and test equipment, IT, freight, and other indirect material purchasing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree; CPSM or training in procurement is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in procurement in a high-tech environment.
- Knowledge in assembly and test equipment, IT, and freight is a plus.
- Work with business owners to develop and implement negotiation strategies to reduce costs of major purchases.
- Develop and maintain KPIs to track cost reduction achievements.
- Proven track record in achieving cost reductions.
- Strong negotiation skills.
