About the position

The Procurement Operations & Project Supervisor at the Montana Department of Justice is responsible for overseeing project managers and the procurement team, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation for various projects. This role requires a strong background in project management, particularly in IT, and aims to enhance processes while maintaining a focus on strategic project portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple project managers and the procurement team to assist and guide them in their projects and processes.
• Maintain collaboration and transparency within the team, coordinating and allocating resources for projects and applications.
• Track DOJ's Project & System Support Portfolio and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Help shape and implement the project portfolio strategy.
• Provide guidance and support to team members and collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in project management and procurement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or related field.
• Five years of experience managing projects.
• Two years of related management experience.
• Strong foundational knowledge of application development, IT infrastructure, and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Lean).
• At least 4 years of project management experience, with an emphasis in IT preferred.
• Professional certifications like PMP are a big plus.
