The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing Procurement yards and operators and negotiating with vendors for the purchase of materials and services. Management duties include supervision of exempt and/or non-exempt staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Yard Operators.
  • Develops New Vendors.
  • Reports changing market conditions.
  • Negotiates with vendors for wood, negotiating the best possible guarantee.
  • Checks on safety and environmental programs for Procurement yards.
  • Covers the duties of the company’s Tie Buyers and Procurement Yard Operators when necessary.
  • Participates and contribute to company safety program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
