About the position

The Process Technician III role at Medtronic involves performing a variety of duties related to electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical systems. The technician will be responsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing, and maintaining equipment and systems, while supporting process development engineers in new technology and process innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
  • Prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Supports Process Development Engineers on new technology and process innovation with emphasis on improving quality and reducing variation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
  • Hands-on experience in a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Prior experience in medical device in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of electricity, electronics, controls, sensors.
  • Practiced knowledge and understanding of motors, mechanical systems, and pneumatics.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing.
  • Ability to utilize calibration and measuring equipment, i.e., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators.
