About The Position

We are seeking a Process Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing facility in Athens, GA. This role is a hands-on, plant-based position responsible for improving product and process quality, driving operational excellence, and supporting production teams. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Service teams to reduce defects, improve yield, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial operations environment with exposure to quality systems, process improvement, and root cause analysis
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship is available

  • Experience in automotive or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
  • Background in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering
  • Experience with data analytics, data systems, or process automation
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., PFMEA, PPAP, root cause analysis)
  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA) or ISO auditing experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

  • Drive scrap reduction and improve first-pass yield (FPY) across manufacturing processes
  • Support daily production activities, including defect resolution and non-conforming material management
  • Perform Gemba walks and partner with production teams to review quality metrics and resolve issues in real time
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional improvement projects focused on process reliability and product quality
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims and field issues, ensuring feedback is integrated into manufacturing processes
  • Conduct process audits and internal ISO audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Utilize tools such as PFMEA, control plans, and quality systems to identify and mitigate risk
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Operations to address root cause and corrective actions
  • Support monthly reporting and quality performance tracking
