About The Position

This role provides essential technical support to manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate and efficient production by clarifying process specifications. The technician will play a key role in measuring and improving the yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes. Responsibilities include documenting, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing procedures, managing the procurement of assembly process tools, and training operators and support staff. The position also requires adherence to SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles, with a focus on understanding, creating, and simplifying processes. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems
  • Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
  • Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis
  • Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.
