About The Position

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the engineering of assigned areas of glass fabrication. This role involves managing process-related tooling, troubleshooting line operations, and issuing/revising drawings and process sheets to drive continuous improvement. The engineer will develop and implement improvements to enhance capability and reduce scrap, verify component conformance to customer specifications, and analyze production results to identify and implement necessary improvements. Collaboration with operators to reduce defects, increase throughput, and improve product dimensional capability is a key aspect, as is training operators on safe and effective equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical) or any equivalent technical degree
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines
  • Solid understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Why, Pareto and other tools to improve and sustain production levels
  • Proven understanding of tools, quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations
  • Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma certified is preferred
  • 3+ years’ in a Manufacturing Environment preferred
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Fluent in use of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Engineering of assigned area of glass fabrication
  • Manage process related tooling in preparation for each production run
  • Trouble-shoot line operations
  • Issue and revise drawing and process sheets as a result of continuous improvement in the process.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement in capability and/or scrap reduction
  • Verify conformance of components to customer specifications
  • Analyse weekly production results, identify deficiencies and implement the necessary improvements
  • Work with operators to reduce defects, increase throughput and improve the products’ dimensional capability
  • Train operators how to safely and effectively operate plant equipment and machinery
