About The Position

Longenecker & Associates (L&A), a Geosyntec Company, is seeking a motivated Process Engineer to contribute to their mission supporting work at Centrus Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, or Systems Engineering)
Academic or project experience in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, or structural analysis
Experience with flow calculations
Experience with P&IDs
Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with modeling tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, MATLAB, etc.
Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance

Responsibilities

Contribute to thermal-fluid and heat-transfer modeling for nuclear applications, translating analysis into practical design decisions
Support structural and materials evaluations using modern simulation tools; help link results to reliability and safety objectives
Draft clear technical documentation: design specs, test plans, and verification procedures
Collaborate with senior engineers across mechanical, nuclear, and systems disciplines to integrate models with real equipment
Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and system verification activities; learn our disciplined review culture
