About The Position

The Process and Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving automated control systems and manufacturing processes. This position works cross-functionally to optimize production line efficiency, ensure product quality, and reduce operational costs through the application of process engineering principles and automation technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
5–7 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering and controls/automation systems
Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Ability to be well organized and the ability to prioritize to make good decisions, and multi-task.
Ability to work independently and have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other team members and facility leadership.
Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA systems.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
Familiarity with automation platforms and software tools (Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition SCADA, etc.).
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, Lean principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience with robotics integration (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, UR).
Knowledge of Industry 4.0, IIoT, and smart manufacturing technologies

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and implement process control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA) to automate and enhance manufacturing operations.
Analyze current manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities and implement changes to improve efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
Lead or support capital projects involving automation upgrades, new equipment installation, or production line modifications.
Design and implement data acquisition systems and process monitoring tools to drive continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot control systems, instrumentation, and process-related issues in real-time manufacturing environments.
Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to ensure robust and reliable equipment performance.
Create and maintain technical documentation including control system designs, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and operating procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA, NFPA) and company safety policies in all engineering activities.
Train operators and maintenance staff on new automated systems and process changes.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for process deviations or equipment failures.
