About the position

The PRN Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory at Cleveland Clinic Health System plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care by providing distributive pharmacy services in an outpatient setting. This position involves preparing prescription orders, maintaining inventory, assisting with compounding, and operating the point-of-sale system, all while working alongside dedicated caregivers in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory setting.
• Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.
• Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.
• Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over-the-counter items.
• Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.
• Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription areas, and remove expiring products.
• Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
• Must register as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves
