About The Position

The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description. Supervises staff responsible for PEIMS reporting, financial transactions, record keeping, and report preparation/reconciliation for the school; Assists in developing and administering the school budget; Monitor and project income and expenditures, analyzes and coordinates budget development set forth and according to guidelines established by the Board of Directors and Texas Education Agency policies; Monitors school purchasing functions and accounts payable and receivables; Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure program activities are related to program activities and related to program outcomes and develop oversight processes to ensure corrective actions as necessary; Provide instruction resources and materials to encourage and support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional and school academic goals; Supervises academic, counseling, office and support staff of the school; Establishes and maintains cooperative staff relations and effective parent-teacher relations; Works with and maintains a strong relationship with community members, parents and students to ensure that the school reflects the community’s needs; Develops learning opportunities for students between semesters and during summer break; Enforces the Cityscape Schools Student Code of Conduct and implements disciplinary proceedings and activities as necessary to maintain an appropriate educational setting for all students; Participates in continuing education opportunities, conferences and seminars to enhance professional growth and encourages and supports continuing education of staff; Performs all duties with an understanding of the mission, philosophy, culture, and protocol of Cityscape Schools and conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Responsible for all other functions and activities of the school as assigned except those specifically designated duties that cannot be delegated by the board of directors under 19 TAC § 100.1033(6)(c).

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Three years progressively responsible in educational management as an assistant principal or equivalent required
  • Principals Certification required
  • Teaching Certification required
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education Administration or related field preferred
  • Bachelors degree in education preferred
  • Experience as a principal preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred

  • Supervises and evaluates all staff assigned to the school and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all departments
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws set forth by the Board of Directors and Texas Education Agency
  • Responsibilities include the interviewing, hiring and training of all employees and responsible for planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Assist with developing relationships with the local and broader community to enhance programs and support of Cityscape Schools
  • Travel, as needed, to represent Cityscape Schools both locally and abroad to support and enhance all programs, projects, and special events
  • Performs other related work as required
